Module List
The DataStudio platform is composed of interconnected modules. The need for all or part of these modules depends on the chosen architecture.
DataStudio Designer
|
The DataStudio Designer is a user-friendly graphical interface for data source referencing, ETL processing design and testing, rights management, configuration management and execution planning in the Scheduler calendar. Access to this module is restricted to the granted users and access to resources depends on the user profile (Administrator, Designer, Operator, User). This module is available for Windows and Linux/Wine (x86). |
DataStudio Server
|
The DataStudio Server is a command line server module that runs DataStudio ETL projects defined in the repository. These projects are triggered by the DataStudio client, the Scheduler or by the reception of a Web Service SOAP message through de Web Service access. This module is available for Windows, Linux and Unix. |
DataStudio Supervisor
|
The DataStudio Supervisor is a service looking after the DataStudio Server to guarantee good quality of service when in SOA Web Service architecture. This module is available for Windows, Linux and Unix. |
Licence Server
|
The Licence Server delivers execution rights to modules (allowed number of binaries, features, etc...) depending on the licence agreement. This module is available for Windows, Linux and Unix. |
Soap Proxy
|
The SOAP proxy usually runs in demilitarized zone (DMZ) and relays SOAP public domain messages to the DataStudio Server Web Service Access to maintain network security. This module is available for Windows, Linux and Unix. |
Scheduler
|
The Scheduler is a server driving the DataStudio Server based on the execution plan. The combination of the Scheduler and the ETL features allows all types of execution sequences. This module is available for Windows, Linux and Unix. |
DataStudio Local Client
|
The DataStudio Local Client is a batchable command line access to a DataStudio Server to trigger ETL projects, set parameters, wait for processing completion and get the execution status. This module is available for Windows, Linux and Unix. |
DataStudio Soap Client
|
The DataStudio Soap Client is a batchable command line remote access to a DataStudio Server in SOAP mode to manage the server, trigger ETL projects, set parameters, wait for processing completion and get the execution status. This module is available for Windows, Linux and Unix. |
DataStudio File API SDK
|
The DataStudio File API SDK is a file format extension design tool. Format extensions allow for viewing any file content as a database table type source. This module is available for Windows, Linux and Unix. |
DataStudio Repository
All DataStudio settings are saved in the DataStudio Repository. The Repository can be one of Oracle, SqlServer, Sybase, DB2, Informix, MySql, PostgreSQL, Centura/SQL, Interbase/FireBird databases (not shipped) or the embedded MySql database (shipped and automatically installed by the setup process if selected).
